POST-PRODUCTION

On this page i will go through the stages of production in each of my  groups media products. For our media work we used adobe as our main software. For our trailer we used Adobe Premier pro CC.

Editing:

The first time we edited we imported the videos from the camera onto the laptop so when we started placing the videos in the trailer we could easily locate them in one place. Once all of the videos were located in one folder we imported all of them onto the Adobe Premier timeline.

We looked at out shot list plane were we decided which shots would go where. The shot list was a rough draft of where the shots would go and we knew that while editing the shots would be changed round and put in different places within the trailer.
The next time we edited Finley and Chyna decided to look through music for the trailer. They found a couple of tracks and put them onto the trailer testing what they would sound like with the trailer. They wanted to look for a soundtrack that made the audience feel sympathy towards the girl being bullied, the victim in our trailer. They then inserted this into the trailer and Finley set up the music so when the beat dipped it would dip with the shots and change pitch as the shots in the trailer changed. We then all together decided to add an additional music to the soundtrack for the end when the bullies are getting chased down and terrorized by the unidentified person. Once the music was found the editing was not yet done and we needed to edit more of the teaser trailer. We placed all the shots in order of what we had on our planning sheet, however once we looked back on it we realized that we could make it better. Therefore we mixed the shots up more to make the teaser trailer feel more like a teaser trailer. Once this editing session was done we had finally came up with our timeline and put the shots in the ideal place. From here we were ready to show our class what we had done and get their feedback.

However we had missed out on thing which was the title of our teaser trailer. To get the ideal title that we wanted we went onto photo shop pro and used a font from there.

After we had shown our class we got feedback saying that the pace of our trailer and the order of some of our shots should we switched round. Once we got this feedback we done it straight away. Editing all of our teaser to make sure it fit what the feedback was so the teaser trailer looked real and like a proper teaser trailer. We also got feedback saying that should change the title of our teaser trailer. the teacher advised that we made the font look scratched and eerie. We discovered how do to this on Adobe Premire Pro. We used the rubber tool and this tool could use different points and rubbed everything out in fragments.

Final poster

chyna made this by first taking a close up of her and her hand over he face. This picture was then added to adobe photoshop pro. chyna edited the tone of the photo making it look black and white which added to the thriller feeling of the film and the convention of a sight and sound magazine as it is simple. Then the boarder was added on . Once this was done it really started to look like a conventional magazine cover. Next the Mast head was added from a logo that i found online and sent o her. I also sent her the interview in red from a previous magazine that had been used before and the date and bar code. having little touches like this to the magazine helped it look real and authentic. the same font was then added to the name Chyna Edwards. This is the same font that was used for the film title. This therefore linked all the products together to make a brand name for the film.Once all this was done little details like the cover lines were added then the magazine cover was finished and our final product was created.
The idea from this poster came from Finley's poster where he had half the girls face showing and the unidentified person in their eye. We then got instructed to have the victims eye as the main image and we agreed as this way you could see a continuity within all the products that were made. We made this by taking a picture of chynas eye at an extreme close up. Finley then played around with the tones of the image and we all decided that the better tone would be blue as it showed sadness and loneliness.  we then went on to add it the tear drop that we found online. this was easy to add and finely played with the opacity to make the tear drop look real. Next he added the unidentified person to the middle of the eye. This was done by editing the opacity and also blending out the edges to go with the eye. We then added the same title to the music which was on the teaser trailer. We used the same font to make the names as well. Having our poster look like this gave the poster a surreal effect and made the trailer feel and look free like it was for a real film.
